The Babushka
When I painted this, I thought at first that it was a man and a woman and then it morphed into a mother and child but I think it can be either. As a child I was given a set of Babushka dolls, and I sat for hours playing with then, and love the concept that all these little dolls existed inside the bigger dolls. It makes me think that we are a sum of all our parts, our history, the people around us, our ancestrors and we will influence the generation after us too. This beauty is 1.2 m x 1,5 m in oil.
